The Mount Watatic fire tower in Ashburnham was first built in 1917 and used until the 1938 New England hurricane that toppled the structure. In 1939, another new tower was built, an International Derrick 1933, which stood until yet another new tower was built in 1951, which is pictured here in 1955. This stood until 1996 when the lookout was sold and removed. Bob Spear photo.
